One of the popular, Indian street food... Chat. Delicious and easy to prepare Aloo Dahi Papdi Chat .. is made of fried papdi ( puris) , boiled aloo ( potato) mixture, flavoured with spices, sweet & tangy red chutney, spicy green chutney, yogurt ( dahi), besan sev.
Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Aloo Dahi Papdi Chat:
- 8 big size maida papdi
- 2 boiled potatoes peeled and mashed
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 tomato finely chopped
- 1 cup (300 ml) whisked fresh curd
- Chat masala as required
- Roasted cummin seeds powder as required
- For khajur sweet red chutney:
- 100 gm red khajur
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp roasted cummin seeds powder
- 1/2 lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- For spicy green chutney:
- Fistful fresh coriander
- leaves Fistful fresh mint
- 4 spicy green chillies
- 1 " ginger
- 1/4 tsp black rock salt
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 lemon juice
- Besan Sev to garnish
Steps to make to make Aloo Dahi Papdi Chat
- Prepare Papdi (before hand).1 cup maida,2 tbsp oil,1 tsp ghee,salt,1 tsp pepper powder(optional). Mix all and bind into dough. Roll into flat 3" diameter round 8 puris. Prick puris all over with fork. Deep fry in hot oil on slow flame till crispy golden. Store in airtight container.

- Pressure cook potatoes with water and salt and khajur (red dry dates) with 1cup water separately in containers for 4 whistles.
- To prepare spicy green chutney.. grind corainder leaves,mint leaves chopped green chillies, ginger, rock salt, lemon juice and salt together in mixer jar with little water to make pouring consistency chutney.
- Peel and mash boiled potatoes. Chopped tomato & onion keep aside.
- To prepare red khajur sweet chutney.. deseed boiled khajur. Add it in mixer jar add red chili powder, roasted cummin seeds powder, salt and lemon juice. Add same boiled water used to cook khajur. Grind it to make pouring consistency chutney.
- Peel and mash boiled potatoes. Chopped tomato and onion finely.
- To assemble / Aloo Dahi Papdi Chat in serving plate arrange 2 papdi or 6 small papdi.

- Pour 2-3 tbsp of whisk fresh curd. On it spread boiled mash potato as shown. Sprinkle chat masala, cummin seeds powder and salt.

- On it pour 2-3 tbsp each of sweet khajur chutney and spicy green chutney. Sprinkle chopped onion and tomato pieces


- Pour 3-4 tbsp whisked curd. Again drizzle 1-2 tsp sweet khajur chutney and spicy green chutney. Garnish with besan sev. Serve / Relish delicious Aloo Dahi Papdi Chat immediately.
